Drive2 is a web community where cars are the main actors. Drive2 mobile apps have thousands users, but quite a low average rating, and that because we failed to do our job properly.

In April 2016 we were approached by Drive2. The challenge wasn’t too difficult, although the main goal was ambitious - to develop the best app in the world.
During that month we started developing several projects at the same time and overestimated our potential. We returned the advance payment, admitted our mistakes and shut down the project.
In June we got through the avalanche of work, learned from our mistakes and eased the workload of our developers. Unfortunately for Drive2, they decided to give us a second chance.
DAS AUTO
The drive2 website is rapidly developing and changing. To speed up the development process, our client decided to build an app in WebView. Our team wasn’t happy with that, but it was the client desire to develop an app based specifically on drive2.ru.
With such a complex web portal, to make WebView look like a native app turned out to be much more difficult than we expected. Moreover, we failed to make the client provide us with a list of all requirements, so we had to make a lot of alterations to our project.
FOR LIFE
We disguised WebView using native elements. We designed native search engine, buttons and chat rooms. We also implemented smart cache and intercept/alter scripts technologies. All of this, of course, didn’t make the app native, but did make it very similar to one.

According to users’ reviews, our app deserves only 2 stars.Too bad.
We developed an app on Android since most Drive2 users have smartphones with this OS.
We tried to do our best so that our client wouldn’t regret coming back to Touch Instinct. We failed. We didn’t manage to build the best app in the world. In November we finished the project and completed our cooperation with Drive2. We wish them well.
